Today we have another Boba 4 Life episode! It's PART 2 of Lori's Meme, in which Sophia (from Sophia the Writer) and I answer the rest of her questions.
Before, I get to that, I just wanted to THANK EVERYONE for your kind words and your concern. Most of our city's power is back, though not all of it. We have a few friends who are still sitting in the dark, a couple of traffic lights still out, and there are still chunks of trees and vegetation sitting by the roadside, waiting to be cleared away. BUT it is improving and it's not at all like some of the hurricane/tornado stories some of you shared! It's just really strange for SoCal, and our trees and power lines clearly weren't prepared. :P Like earthquakes don't freak me out, but this "wind event" (as they're calling it) totally did.
ANYWAY, Alz got her power back on Sunday! So yay!
On to the vlog!
Set-up reminder: This vlog's topic was a "Getting to Know You" Meme that Lori from You are the unicorn of my dreams put together. She asked us 5 random questions each. We answered the first 3 last time.
Part 1 of the Meme can be found here: Boba4Life - Lori's Meme Part 1
Krispy's Qs:
4. Do you have any phobias?
5. Name one thing you miss about being a kid.
BONUS
6. Mortal combat between Prince Eric (the little mermaid) and Prince Phillip (sleeping beauty). Who would win?
Sophia's Qs:
4. In a mortal combat, who would win: Merlin or Dumbledore?
5. If your mother was turned into a zombie, would you kill her and put her out of her misery or would you let her eat you?
Thanks again for watching and for well-wishing! See you Friday!
What are your answers to these questions? OR Team Eric or Team Phillip?

Boba4Life: Lori's Meme
Today, I have for you a new episode of Boba4Life with me, Krispy, and Sophia from Sophia the Writer!
We actually filmed this mid-November but I didn't get around to cutting it together until now. Oops. As usual, we had too much fun doing this vlog, so it's another 2-parter. I might even have a blooper reel for you in the future. Hah.
Without further ado, this vlog's topic was a "Getting to Know You" Meme that Lori from You are the unicorn of my dreams put together. She asked us 5 random questions each. We manage to answer 3 this first time around.
Krispy's Qs:
1. What kind of music do you listen to?
2. In an epic battle, who would win: the Dalai Lama or Batman?
3. Which of the Four Horsemen of the Apocalypse would you fear least meeting?
Sophia's Qs:
1. If you had the option of spending the night with a vampire or a werewolf (with no guarantee that it wouldn't be the night of the full moon), which would you choose?
2. What do you consider the most important event in your life so far?
3. Explain why you should run for president.
Thanks for watching! Come back Friday for another episode of Boba4Life, Lori's Meme vlog Part 2! Meanwhile, I'll be trying to up my NaNo wordcount to something less embarrassing. Wish me luck!

Vlogging in the Big Apple
Not gonna lie, I'm still on vacation hangover. Is it the weekend yet? Need. More. Rest. (Hanging out with Luce & going to the Two Door Cinema Club show with the sister last night probably didn't help. But yay, good music & company!)
That aside, I did miss you all! I know I owe a bunch of you replies and comments and emails, and I will do my best to get to them.
Anyway, here's my FIRST SOLO vlog that I did during some down time in NYC. It's a little weird because I'm typing the rest of this blog from my couch at home. This is like the closest I'll be to time travel!
Hope you enjoy!
In other news, before I left for vacation, I got my letter into Pottermore, got chosen by a wand (12.5 inches, dragon core, sycamore, surprisingly swishy!), and I was Sorted into RAVENCLAW. Just as I always suspected! At last count, we're beating the Slytherins in House points.
So, anyone else in Pottermore? Have you been sorted? Let's be friends! :)

Accent Challenge vlog, Part 2
TGIF, friends, and happy Canada Day to you Canadian readers! As promised, I have Part 2 of the Accent Meme vlog.
However, before we get into that, I'd like to encourage you to take a looksie at the darkly wonderful online kidlit mag, Underneath the Juniper Tree. Their July issue is out today, and I don't know, you may find one of my insidious sentences lurking in the issue. ;) (*hint* I won a challenge.)
On to the fun stuff!
To review, Sophia (Sophia the Writer) found an Accent Challenge Meme on Tumblr and thought it'd be a great for our next vlog. We got boba and filmed it. Much giggling ensued, and I found out I've been pronouncing New Orleans wrong.
Here's Part 1 if you missed it: Accent Challenge vlog, Part 1
Accent Challenge: Part 2
This part of the Meme was all random questions. So here's my question to you: Wizard or vampire? :)
For those of you in the States with me, it's Fourth of July weekend! Here's to celebrating Independence Day, fireworks, and a day off from work! For those of you who aren't celebrating a holiday, WOOHOO IT'S JULY!!!
Have a fabulous weekend, and I'll see you on Wednesday.
P.S. A note on the grandparents question: in Chinese, you call your grandparents different things depending on which side of the family they're on. It's even more complicated with uncles and aunts because what you call them depends on which side they're on AND whether they're older/younger than your parents. Then there's dialect to take into consideration - as in what I call my grandparents (Ah-ma and Ah-gong) are Taiwanese terms.
P.P.S. Oh and if you were wondering from last week's Randomosity, meeting with blog friends went well. I wined and dined them on Taiwanese shaved ice & boba, and they loved it!

Accent Challenge vlog, Part 1
It's sort of a Wordless Wednesday because I have a vlog for you! Sophia and I attempt to amuse you again with our (non)-accents!
Also, THANK YOU everyone who stopped by and commented on the Lovin' the Language Blogfest post! It brightened my whole week. I enjoyed seeing all your entries too!
Accent Challenge
Hope you enjoyed that! It's split up because it turned out to be kind of long, and I didn't want to overwhelm you with our randomosity.
Do you think you have an accent? Do you think WE have accents?
Part 2 will be up on FRIDAY! Hope to see you then!

APA Month Conclusion Vlog!
Welcome to a special TUESDAY post at A Nudge! I hope you all had a fun, relaxing Memorial Day weekend filled with good company and good food.
Today's post is brought to you by Sophia the Writer and me, Krispy. We both have been wanting to try out this vlogging thing, and as you know, I've been celebrating Asian Pacific-Islander American Heritage Month all of May. So we thought it would be appropriate to combine our first time vlog with our conclusion to the APA Month celebrations.
So without further ado, I give you our first vlog where we talk about boba, living in fantasy worlds, and random reveals. Hope you enjoy (and hopefully we'll get better at this vlogging thing)!
(cross-posted at Sophia's blog: Boba-go-go APA Month Vlog)
P.S. I won't be blogging tomorrow since I'm blogging today. So see you all Friday!

A Tale of Two Sisters & A 'Stache-tastic GIVEAWAY!
HELLO lovelies. It is August and I have a FUN GIVEAWAY for all of you! This fun thing was so secret and spontaneous that not even Alz knew until I told her like last night.
BUT FIRST...
Today, I have a tale of two sisters to tell.
*
There once were two sisters, KRISPY and KRUNCHY. In many ways, they were alike. They were both short. They dressed similarly. They generally liked the same music and movies and shows. Often, they were mistaken for twins, which they most definitely were not.
Of course, they were actually very different.
Krispy liked to laze about, having outgrown her enjoyment of strenuous physical activity somewhere around the 7th grade, whereas Krunchy was into the whole "exercise" thing and sports and mostly hung out with boys. Where Krunchy had a penchant for trashy reality TV and Nick/Disney shows, Krispy preferred the History Channel and crime dramas.
Krispy was always a bookworm. One lazy summer, she read every single Greek mythology book her library had to offer. Krunchy didn't read books unless it was for school or if there was going to be a movie version (of course, there were exceptions). Instead, she knew everything about everything in the state of Pop Culture.
Krispy could mostly be characterized as "nice," although the truth was she was just very chill and a conflict-avoider. Read up on the #9 Enneagram personality type and you have a blue print of how Krispy operates.
Krunchy could mostly be characterized as "mean" or "angry." Along with her pop culture tastes, she honed her wit and tongue to a fine and sharp point until Krispy started asking her "Why are you so mean???" and "Why are you so angry???"
But it turned out, they made a pretty good team. On a random afternoon, they came up with a ridiculous idea, involving READING and EXERCISE...but that is a tale for a different day.
*
On a secondary note, we also thought people would like FREE STUFF.
You see, Krunchy is the "cooler" sister.
When I was a college sophomore, I interned at a state mental hospital, where I had to pass through multiple-gated guard stations topped with barbed wire.
The sister just finished her 2nd year of college, and her summer internship is with a record label, where she gets swag and goes to concerts as part of her job.
Yeah, definitely cooler.
So what's this about a giveaway? Friends, my sister has some COOL new swag (stickers, posters, dog tags!), and well, just check out the vlog (the first EVER on this blog) below:
TO ENTER:
1. Visit Mustache Mania, and leave a comment about what you liked most on the site.
2. Please also comment with an email address where I can contact you if you win.
THAT'S IT!
For extra points...
+1 for spreading the word - please let us know where!
+1 to +5 (assigned by Krunchy based on AWESOMENESS) for sharing your favorite mustachioed person (or thing) - real or imagined - or share something else mustache related.
Following A Nudge is not necessary but would be very appreciated. :)
Contest closes a week from today, August 12th. We will then stick all entries in a hat (or use a random number generator) and pick a winner on Friday, the 13th (will it be your lucky day?).
