Ah, it's my 30th What's Up Wednesday post!

WHAT I'M READING

Still reading ALLEGIANT. I've also received my B&N shipment, which means I now have THE WINNER'S CURSE in my hands. So I'll probably read that next.

WHAT I'M WRITING

Nothing this last week. :(

WHAT INSPIRES ME RIGHT NOW

Well, dear Twitter friend Kaye (@gildedspine) was rather worked up these last two days because of the announcement of a new ABCFamily show called Alice in Arabia. The synopsis has many problematic aspects. While the apparent perpetuation of stereotypes isn't very inspiring, I was so impressed by Kaye's articulate and intelligent arguments and concerns. It was also enlightening and inspiring to see all the people who came to discuss their concerns about the show.

Definitely check out the #AliceinArabia hashtag on Twitter and what Kaye said on her Twitter stream. Here's a good article for an overview: ABC Family pilot 'Alice in Arabia' faces online backlash

WHAT ELSE I'VE BEEN UP TO

I only bought one item of clothing while I was overseas in London. It was a dress with neon poppies on it, and I was finally able to wear it this weekend. It was flattering too because 2 sales guys at JCrew and a sales lady at Kate Spade complimented me on it. Yay!

Thanks to some cool social media perks, it looks like I will be seeing the DIVERGENT movie tonight! The Sister saw it because she went to the premiere with some friends. Perk was that she saw the gorgeous Matt Lanter too and was in a selfie with him. She was also in an epic selfie with Veronica Roth herself!

HOW IS THIS GUY SO BEAUTIFUL???   [Photo courtesy the Sis / her friend]
Sister's epic group selfie with the gorgeous Veronica Roth!

Sis she got my book jacket signed too!

Lastly, our puppy Loki's birthday is this Friday! He will be turning 2! I can't believe so much time has passed. Look at him from a year ago (left) and now (right)!

What's up with you? Will you be seeing Divergent?

I love the dress! You look gorgeous in it.

I can't wait to see Divergent.

That poppy dress... Seriously. My favorite! Loving the Loki photos as usual. Such a sweet face. Enjoy Divergent, Alice. Can't wait to hear what you think!

That's awesome that sis got to go to the premiere! I can't imagine what it would be like to go to a premiere. Fun! Love the poppy dress. One of the only articles of clothing I brought back from London was an owl dress from Covent Garden. It's a little wacky, but I love it in the fall. It feels Potterish to me. ;-)

Have a great week, Alice!

Ah, Matt Lanter. Swoon. He's just way too good looking.
I was hoping to see Divergent this weekend but it looks like I'll have to wait until next week. Oh well. :)
Great dress!

You look darling in that dress and Loki is turning 2? OMG? Time really does fly.

I now have photo envy...okay, moment's over but for a split second, I wanted to be in both those group selfies. At least I can say someone's blog I visited has a sis in a group selfie with Divergent peeps lol!!

This post is full of so many cute things--Loki, your poppy dress, Matt Lanter lol. Can't say that I mind watching him on Star-Crossed. Happy birthday to Loki and hope you have an awesome week! :)

Happy birthday to your puppy, who isn't much of a pup anymore. Also, that dress is super cute! Great find.

I hope you have a wonderful week!

I can't wait to see Divergent. it doesn't come out here in Australia till the 10th of April. Which is sad :(

Have a good week.

I haven't read Divergent yet, but I have all the books. I've heard only good things :)
And I love your dress! It's so pretty, no wonder you got so many compliments :)

I really don't know if I'll see the DIVERGENT movie. Maybe. If my oldest wants to see it and wants me to go with her, then I will. I'm sure it'll be well acted, with great effects, etc. I guess I just don't see the need for a movie version--what more awesomeness can the movie add to the book?

Have a wonderful week, Alice! :)

I got lucky enough to snatch Alligent the minute it hit the shelves at the library (yay!) Enjoy Divergent - hope you'll tell us how it was. And I LOVE that dress! It's gorgeous.

I still have to read Divergent, first! I'm way behind.
This weekend's movie will be The Grand Budapest Hotel.
