RSW 2015: Week 10

Ready.Set.Write! is a summer writing intensive hosted by Alison Miller, Katy Upperman, Erin Funk, Elodie Nowodazkij, and Jaime Morrow. Click the banner or the link previous for more information on the intensive.

We're checking in every Monday, and the link-up will be on the host blogs.

1. How I did on last week’s goals
  • Write for 15 min every day. 2 out of 7. But I did start a new poem, so yay!
  • Read 3 chapters of beta read. I might have been a little short, but I did read.
  • Go to the gym/exercise at least 2 times a week. Nope.
  • In bed by 12:30a at the latest. Fail. :(

2. My goal(s) for this week
  • Write for at least 15 min every day.
  • Read 3 more chapters of beta read.
  • Seriously, be in bed by 12:30a at the latest.
  • Relax/ vegetate (because it's my birthday week!)

3. A favorite line from my story OR one word/phrase that sums up what I wrote/revised

Shifting. There are a few details that I always think I have figured out, and then I find that I haven't or that they need to be changed.

4. The biggest challenge I faced this week (ex. finding time to write)

Procrastinating. I did have a little more time this week, but I had such a hard time just sitting down and doing the work. Boo.

5. Something I love about my WiP

Having a little bit of trouble in this department, but that might be the procrastination and general avoidance talking...

How did you do with your goals this week?

There seems to be something in the air this last week, it's been a very procrastinate-y time it seems. But yay for a new poem and reading! (And I'm starting to think it's impossible to get to bed before 12:30 myself too, so I totally sympathise!)

Also, awesome that it's your birthday week! When is the big day?

Good luck with this week, I'm sure you'll be able to rediscover things you love about your WiP!

I have found that when I have more open bits of time, I'm way less productive. What is it about that?! Anyway, I think this week you should just relax. Happy early birthday! Get work done when you can. Hope you have a great week!

Enjoy your birthday week! Sometimes we need to just be happy with the little bit we get done. I'm telling myself this really, because I have a hard time when I'm not productive. Oh well.

Happy b-day week! We hope you get to celebrate properly. As for getting into bed by 12:30am...what a great goal! That's something we should try for, too. You did well last week and we hope you accomplish all of your goals this upcoming week! Good luck :)

Yay birthday week! I hope you're doing something super cool and super fun to celebrate! (Maybe involving Loki in a birthday hat? That's the kind of quality Instagram content I like to see ;) New poem is good! I always love the poems you share here and on Twitter :)

And I'm totally going to hijack your bedtime goal this week. It's midnight here and if I don't get up now I know I'll keep watching Food Network until waaaaay too late. So easy.

I procrastinated a lot this week too, Alice (thanks, Gilmore Girls!), but I'm so going to buckle down in the coming week. I hope. :-) Best of luck with your goals. I'm rooting for you, lady!

Have a great birthday week! And I don't know how you stay up that late, girl! I used to be a night owl too, until I had my son. He keeps me up at all hours the way it is. =) Good luck this week!
