W(H)IP It Together

I was going to post up some book logs, but I realized that it's the last full week of March. Things are getting crazy at work, where I'm subsisting off green tea, fortune cookies, and Red Vines; I'm not getting enough sleep (I guess full-time work really is more grueling than being a full-time student, when I often got less sleep but didn't feel nearly as tired); and did I mention it's almost the end of March?

One of my resolutions was to finish 2 of the 3 short stories I have sitting around by April, but I instead started a new one. With roughly 7 days left of March, I'm putting my nose to the grindstone (is that a phrase?) and I will attempt to finish AT LEAST one of those. Gotta make adjustments for Real Life, right?

When I return, I will have brief book logs. I just finished Frank Beddor's ArchEnemy of the Looking Glass Wars trilogy and Gail Carriger's Soulless. I'm currently reading Gayle Forman's If I Stay.

So no real blog posts for the next 7 days because I will be whipping up a WIP. Wish me luck.

P.S. I kinda want to try out these Vision Boards or vision journals, but I suck at keeping journals. I'm also intensely adverse to cutting photographic things up like how I can't mark-up books, not even text books for school. It pains me.

If I Stay is definitely on my to-read list. I am apparently all for morbid death books. One of my favorites in this genre (dear God, I read so many death books that it's officially a genre now?!) is Before I Die by Jenny Downham. Also, if the main character is a cellist, I'm already drawn to it, because I love the cello, even though I didn't choose it as my instrument all those years ago (stupid me!).

OMG, I know what you mean. I sort of love sad stories even though they tear me to pieces. Wanted to read If I Stay because it reminded me of The Lovely Bones, which I ADORED even though it caused soul-destroying angst. The book also reminded me of a movie called "Stay," with Ewan McGregor (who I also ADORE), which was also sad and bittersweet and weird. Um, yes. Liking it so far, already twinged some heartstrings, and it's super short! It's like not even 200 pgs!

I, too, love the cello. The sound is so beautiful and rich. Alas, I became a flutist (and zither-ist?).

Another cello fan here-- I can play violin.

I have a ton of magazines you can have to cut up-- can't bring myself to get rid of them thougth. I should probably make a vision board--or at least a collage.

Oh my heck! We're like twins! I've never met anyone who prefers Red Vines to Twizzlers and I will die before I say I like Twizzlers more! Yay!

And, uh, good luck with your short.

Arlee- Welcome! Yes, put those magazines to use! I just have a hard time bringing myself to cutting them up regardless. XP

Elana- Thanks and RED VINES FTW!!!
