WHAT I'M READING
Still making my way through BLUE LILY, LILY BLUE. I'm also reading STEAL LIKE AN ARTIST. Very inspirational.
WHAT I'M WRITING
A few lines here and there. I hope to really get back into it this month with the help of NaNoWriMo energy (though I'm not participating this year). By the way, good luck NaNo-ers!
WHAT WORKS FOR ME
Reading wonderful writing! On the one hand, reading great writing can be depressing because how will I ever even come close to that, but it's also so inspiring. It makes me want to spin my own tales.
WHAT ELSE I'VE BEEN UP TO
Mostly recovering from Italy. I do think sometimes you need a vacation from your vacation, haha. I wasn't really jet-lagged but I have a lot of work to get caught up on and Daylight Savings didn't do me any favors.
The other thing that happened is Halloween! Since I missed most of October in the US, it hasn't really felt like Halloween for me, and when I got back, I only had a week to figure out what to do. Luckily, I had my casual cosplay Wonder Woman outfit from Comic Con this year! So I spruced it up a little and that was the DIY costume I wore to work!
My co-workers had some great ones - my favorite was a woman dressed as the painting of the Mona Lisa. It was a frame with the painting, but the Mona Lisa's face was cut out so you could stick your own face there. So funny.
The Sister had some fun at Target, trying on foam wigs and beards, but as usual, she matched her costume to Loki's.

Can you spot the Loki Lion King?
Lastly, the Sis and I are participating in Set to Stunning's Nerdvember challenge this month. So if you follow either of us on Instagram, I apologize in advance for the geeky outfit selfies you'll be seeing all month. I'll share some looks as the month goes.
Oh and pre-registration for Comic Con 2015 is happening this weekend! Eeeep! Wish us luck!!
What's up with you?

Love the costumes! Loki makes a fabulous lion :)
Awesome costumes! I try to get inspired by really awesome writing, but I admit I'm a bit envious of my favourite authors. Hope you enjoy BLUE LILY, LILY BLUE!
Aww! Your casual Wonder Woman costume is the absolute cutest! It's such a classy and chic take on the design! Also, I just started reading the first book in the Raven Boys and I can't wait to finish!
Those are some great coustumes!
Yeah, reading anything by Maggie Stiefvater makes me side-eye my own writing pretty hard. She may not be the best first draft reading! (But BL,LB is so good!)
Well, as I tell my students: "Never compare your first drafts to someone else's final copy." Now I just have to learn to actually do that!
Love your costume!
I feel the same way about reading beautiful writing. When I'm already doubting my own writing, it's depressing. But when I'm pumped up, it's vastly inspiring. Luckily, it's been more inspiring than depressing later, which is lovely for NaNoWriMo. :)
And Loki rocked the lion costume. I think you tweeted (or maybe your sister did) about your mom not noticing Loki at first. I was the same. XD
Your costume is awesome, and Loki makes an excellent lion. :-)
I'm reading BLLB now too, and loving it. Can't wait to see how it wraps up, but I'm sort of terrified too. I really need Gansey to be okay! Have a great week, Alice!
Love the costumes!
Pre-registration already? That's crazy.
I went to Disneyland last month and I definitely needed a vacation after my vacation. It was fun, but exhausting!
Love the costumes!
Love, love, LOVE the Halloween costumes! And the Loki Lion is totally awesome!
Hope you have an amazing week!
I'm looking forward to Blue Lily, Blue Lily. Very cool costumes! :)
Love all the costumes! You really got into the Halloween spirit. Good luck getting your writing on during NaNo!
Such awesome costumes! That skirt for your WW outfit is absolutely perfect! I've heard good things for STEAL LIKE AN ARTIST, and seeing as I can relate to most of it, I'll have to look into it ;-) Have a wonderful week!

What great costumes! Loki makes a great lion, and your Wonder Woman is marvelous.
Love all your photos!! The costumes are great.
When I read great writing, I often get kind of depressed too--"I'll never write like this." But then I remind myself that their first draft probably sucked too. :)
