Happy Friday, folks! Welcome to another edition of Key Scenes Illustrated. Since it is late and this is spur-of-the-moment, there's only three this time. Here we go!
From
Jurassic Park Shades of Earth by Beth Revis: Elder and Amy find something unexpected on the planet.
|
Not a spoiler since it says it in the book blurb. F'realz. |
From
Throne of Glass by Sarah J. Maas: A deadly group of hardened convicts gathered from across the breadth of the land face their first challenge in the road to power and freedom...
From
The Crown of Embers by Rae Carson: Fatprincess is actually halfway badass once or twice in the book!
|
Okay, so this isn't really an illustration of a key scene. and in fact
Elisa is no longer grossly obese in this book. I just like calling her Fatprincess
and drawing her as a fatprincess. I was going to try to have a review written
for today but it didn't happen, so you get this filler doodle for now. |
Review (with doodles) of
The Crown of Embers forthcoming. Picture post by Krispy of her trip to Europe forthcoming. Procrastination on both our parts very likely forthcoming.
Q4U: Ever anticipated reading a horrible book only for it to turn out not as bad as you expected? Or the opposite--anticipated reading a great book only to end up hating it?

Have you read Shades of Earth yet? Wait. Don't tell me--I'll ask for spoilers and I really don't want to know. :)
I love the doodles (as usual). I will be looking forward to the review. :)

:D Adore your doodles, Alz! Throne of Glass is next on my to-read list, because I did like the version I read on FP ages ago.
Haha, I love your doodles. They make everything better.
Very awesome doodles. I especially love Fatprincess. I'm so glad you had time for her.

As usual, LOVE the doodles.
As for the question...UGH...yes. I'd shaken my head to a few books and when I gave them a chance, I was like, "Hmmm...really? Okay, liked ya"
Then there's the "OMG U GOTTA READ THIS that turned into a big ton of SOMEONE RESCUE ME FROM THE GANASH OF DISASTER!
Hehehe great doodles! I can't remember any book I expected not to like and ended up liking. I generally try to avoid books I think I won't like, because I'm not a masochist like you. :P Also, I end up reading plenty of books I don't like anyway because some of the books I expect to like end up falling flat for me. Recent reads i ended up not liking include DoSaB and Seraphina. SO SAD. :(
I'm bad. I'll read the reviews and often prepare myself for the worst. That way, I'm not surprised at all by the disappointing parts, OR I'm pleasantly surprised at how much I like it.
